Federico Barbaro is one of the medical directors of the Surgical Digestive Endoscopy Operating Unit of the “A. Twins”.
He graduated and specialized in Gastroenterology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome. Here he subsequently obtained the title of PhD in “Clinical, Cellular and Molecular Research”.
From the initial stages of his gastroenterological training he oriented his clinical and scientific interest towards Digestive Endoscopy. In particular, he deals with the diagnosis and resective endoscopic treatment of superficial neoplastic lesions of the digestive tract and bilio-pancreatic endoscopy. He spent a period of training in Yokohama in Japan (Prof. S. Maeda, Prof. K. Hirasawa – University Medical Center) to perfect himself on a complex and evolved endoscopic technique (Submucosal Endoscopic Dissection) used for the removal of neoplasms of the ‘digestive system.
He is author and co-author of various publications in national and international scientific journals relating to Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy (h index 11). He is a member of the teaching staff of the European Endoscopy Training Center (Catholic University of the Sacred Heart), a high-level training center dedicated to teaching Digestive Endoscopy techniques and the 2nd level Master in Digestive Endoscopy in adults and children (at the same University ).
He was a member of the Italian Society of Digestive Endoscopy and of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
