Dr. Yen-I Chen MD. MSc. is  a gastroenterologist and the director of therapeutic endoscopy at the McGill University Health Centre in Montreal, Canada. His clinical focus is in pancreaticobiliary endoscopy. His endoscopic training stems from a two year advanced endoscopy fellowship at Johns Hopkins (Baltimore, USA), which was a followed by a master’s in experimental medicine at McGill University.  Dr. Chen’s research centers around the assessment of novel endoscopic technologies in pancreaticobiliary cancer. His work is funded by the Canadian Institute of Health Research and the Fonds de Recherche du Québec-Santé. He has served as the principal investigator for several multicentre endoscopic trials including most recently the ELEMENT study comparing EUS-biliary drainage with ERCP. Dr. Chen has over 110 peer-reviewed publication with an H-index 33 since starting his practice in 2017.   

He is also the co-founder of Chess Medical, a company focused on the development of technologies for therapeutic EUS.
