Stefania Piccirelli works as Gastroenterologist at Poliambulanza Hospital, Brescia, Italy, since December 2022. During her Residency in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy at Cattolica del Sacro Cuore University, Capsule Endoscopy (CE) was the main field of Clinical Research she was focused on. Under the guidance of Professor Cristiano Spada, she carried out several clinical trials and publications, and had the honour to participate in the last ESGE guidelines update on CE in the Group of Suspected Small Bowel Bleeding, and to carry on the first international prospective trial called “ARTIC study” on Artificial Intelligence in SBCE. She is currently member of the Scientific Committee of the iCARE Group, she is a ESGE member, member of the Italian Society of Gastroenterology (SIGE), Digestive Endoscopy (SIED), and Board member of AGGEI (Italian Association of Young Gastroenterogists).

Dr. Piccirelli spent her last year of Residency at University Hospital of Padua, mentored by Professor Edoardo Vincenzo Savarino, to develop her clinical competences in the field of esophageal motility disorders, eosinophilic esophagitis, and neurogastroenterology. She currently manages the outpatient Clinic dedicated to Eosinophilic esophagitis, following patients both clinically and endoscopically, and she regularly performs high-resolution manometry following patients with motor disorders.

In her career, she aims to constantly enrich her daily healthcare activities with Clinical Research to offer the best patient’s care.
