Sergey Kashin is Associated Professor of Surgery and GI Endoscopy, Head of Endoscopy Department of Yaroslavl Regional Cancer Hospital and Head of Endoscopy Training Centre of Yaroslavl State Medical University. He had courses of training in Japanese Cancer Research Foundation Hospital (Tokyo, Japan), Kanazawa Medical University (Kanazawa, Japan) and European Endoscopy Training Centre (Rome, Italy).
He is a Councillor of Russian Endoscopy Society and the member of JGES and ESGE. Sergey Kashin is an active member of the Guidelines committee of Russian Endoscopy Society and the advisor of the Committee for Postgraduate Training of Russian Healthcare Ministry. He was an active member of the ESGE Guideline Committee working groups on ESD and MAPS guidelines. His clinical and research interests include advanced endoscopic imaging of the GI Tract, in particular gastric precancerous lesions, early gastric cancer and Barrett’s oesophagus and also minimally invasive endoscopic therapy of early GI neoplasia. He has authored / co-authored several textbook chapters and publications.
He has also performed several live endoscopy demonstrations, endoscopy training in animal models / isolated animal stomachs and colons simulators and has lectured in national and international meetings. Recently he has been awarded as the Honoured Doctor of Russian Federation.
