Dr. Roberto Di Mitri was born on the 4th of December in 1968. He got his degree with honor in 1993 at the University of Palermo. He specialized with Laude, in Gastroenterology in 1998 at the University of Palermo. Since 2013 chief of the Department of Endoscopy and digestive disease at Civico- Di Cristina – Benfratelli Hospital. Relator and scientific director of more than 60 conferences and courses. More than one hundred publications in international journals of endoscopy and gastroenterology such as “Gastrointestinal Endoscopy”.  Reviewer of these international specialistic journals: European Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology,  World Journal of Gastroenterology, Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology. Since 2014 assistant professor for endoscopic training of resident doctors in Gastroenterology at the University of Palermo. In June 2017 he was nominated as SIED Endoscopic trainer for the WEO/ESGE/EETC. During his career, he improved different endoscopic techniques performing more than 20000 procedures: about 2600 ERCP; about 1400 diagnostic EUS and of these 700 were operatives, like pseudocyst and biliary EUS-guided drainage; PEG placement; endoscopic dilatation of malignant or not malignant stenosis of the all the digestive tract; polypectomies, EMR and ESD; Sclerosis and endoscopic variceal ligation; treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding, Barrett ablation with RFTA; colangioscopy with digital Spy-Glass, endoscopic cystotomy of Zenker diverticulum.
