He currently holds the position of Level I Medical Director at the Complex Operative Unit of Digestive Endoscopy and Gastroenterology at Policlinico S. Martino, University of Genoa.
By virtue of the position held and the high professional and human value demonstrated throughout his career, Dr. Manuele Furnari was selected by the “Medical Excellence” group as its reference specialist.
Dr. Manuele Furnari graduated with honors in medicine and surgery in 2008 from the University of Genoa. In 2014, he specialized with honors in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy.

He is web editor for the online portal United European Gastroenterology in Vienna, Austria, as well as a current researcher at the University of Genoa. He is a member of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) , the Italian Society of Gastroenterology (SIGE) and the Italian Society of Digestive Endoscopy (SIED).
Dr. Manuele Furnari was the 2017 winner of the ESD Training cancer for the reference module at Keio University, Tokyo (Jp), he attended from 2013 to 2014 at the Universitätsklinikum für Gastroenterologie, Hepatologie und Infektiologie, Magdeburg, Germany, the course in Advanced Endoscopy directed by Prof. Peter Malfertheiner. In November 2012 he was a “visiting doctor” at the digestive endoscopy department of the “Gemelli” hospital in Rome directed by Prof. Guido Costamagna. In the period from September 2011 to March 2013, he periodically held the same position at the reference department of the National Cancer Institute in Milan, directed by Prof. Emanuele Meroni. From 2014 to 2017, he was a researcher at IRCCS- Az. Osp. Universitaria San Martino-IST, Genoa, Italy.

He has authored and co-authored 64 international scientific publications and has been a speaker at DDW 2014 in Chicago and ISDE 2014 in Vancouver, at Bridging Meeting 2013 in Berlin, Germany, DDW 2012 in San Diego, DDW 2013 and 2015 in Orlando and Chicago, USA, as well as at UEGW events 2010 Barcelona, 2011 Stockholm, 2012 Amsterdam, 2013 Berlin, 2014, Vienna, 2015 Barcelona, Vienna 2016.
Academic Activity.
He is currently a lecturer in Gastroenterology for the Nursing Science – Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy – Medicine course at the University of Genoa.
