Dr John Anderson has been a Consultant Gastroenterologist in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, for over 25 years. His clinical practice now focuses on advanced therapeutic endoscopy, training and education. Dr Anderson provides a specialist tertiary therapeutic colonoscopy service for complex colonic polypectomy and helps provide the local ERCP service.
Previous roles include National Endoscopy Training Lead, and Chairman of the BCSP accreditation committee. His current roles include Director of the Gloucestershire Endoscopy Training Centre, BCSP and BSG Endoscopy committee members, JAG and BCSP assessor. In 2017 he was appointed as Lead for National Quality Improvement in Colonoscopy (EQIP) in the UK. He is a founder and director of the on-line endoscopy learning platform GIEQS (www.gieqs.com).
Dr Anderson has been involved in the development of endoscopy training and bowel cancer screening programmes in a number of countries around the world and remains very committed to quality improvement in relation to all aspects of endoscopy practice. He continues to enjoy the challenges of providing 1:1 skills improvement for individuals across the whole spectrum of endoscopy competence and experience.
