Prof. Dr. Jochen Hampe is Head of the Gastroenterology & Hepatology Division of the Medical Clinic I at the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital in Dresden and Project leader of the studies on gallstones, colon cancer, diverticular disease. He started his medical education at Charité Berlin (Humboldt University) and St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School London, UK (all clinical subjects of the 7th and 8th semester). In 2006 he become Senior physician, Department of Internal Medicine and since 2013 he is head of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Division.
He is a member of the German society of Internal Medicine (DGIM) and Digestive and Metabolic diseases(DGVS), European Association for the study of liver. Since 2008, Prof. Dr. Jochen Hampe is Member of the Commission for the research and support young researchers of the German society of internal medicine.
