Since 2015 Prof. Cavestro is Associate Professor for the disciplinary scientific sector MED-12 (Gastroenterology) at the School of Medicine of the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan, and since 2019 Head of the Hereditary GI Tumours Functional Unit at the Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy Unit of the San Raffaele Hospital, Milan.

Prof. Cavestro is coordinator of the DIRECt group (Delphi Initiative Recommendations on eoCRC), and of the international multicenter DEMETRA project: “Diet obesity smoking Epigenetics geneTics biomaRkers physical Activity in early onset colorectal cancer” (since 2020).
