Dr. Carlos Robles-Medranda is an Ecuadorian gastroenterologist and endoscopist, a member of the ASGE, AGA, ACG, ESGE, and other renowned international societies. He obtained his medical degree from the Catholic University of Guayaquil (2003), studied gastroenterology and digestive endoscopy at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Clementino Fraga Filho Hospital – Brazil, 2004-2005), completed his training in endoscopic ultrasound at the Mediterranean University in Marseille, France (2006-2007); and trained in interventional endoscopy at the Claude Bernard University in Lyon, France (2006-2008). He currently works as head of the endoscopy service of the Ecuadorian Institute of Digestive Diseases (IECED), in Guayaquil – Ecuador, and as director of the Pentax Training Center Ecuador (PTCE), endorsed by the WEO and by the ASGE in Latin America, where they have been trained more than 100 professionals from all over the world, in advanced endoscopic interventionism. Throughout his career, he has carried out several scientific studies, which have been recognized internationally. He received the National Scholar Award at UEG Week 2013 and 2018, obtained the award for the best work presented at the World Congress of Gastroenterology 2017, in the category of functional disorders, and was recognized with the second-best work presented at the World Endoscopy Congress (Endo 2020). Recently, he was recognized with the Best Innovation Technology during ESGE Days 2021.
