The chief physician of the clinic for internal medicine and gastroenterology in the Elisabeth Hospital in Essen, Priv.-Doz. dr Brigitte Schumacher has now been appointed adjunct professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen.
Prof. Dr. Brigitte Schumacher began her academic career at the University of Düsseldorf. As senior physician in the department of gastroenterology, she headed the endoscopic department in the Ev. Düsseldorf Hospital before she came to Essen as chief physician in 2013. Today, Prof. Dr. Schumacher-led clinic 21 doctors.
Prof. Dr. Schumacher on the subject of “Therapeutic endoscopy in gastroesophageal reflux disease and associated neoplasia”. She has published in numerous national and international journals and participated in national and international studies. Her expertise is in demand at congresses, seminars and live endoscopic events.
In the future, Prof. Dr. Brigitte Schumacher will also be increasingly active in the training of prospective doctors at the University of Duisburg-Essen.
