Klaus Torp, M.D. is a Consultant and Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. Prior to joining Mayo in 2004 he completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine as well as two fellowships in Critical Care Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine as well as Hyperbaric Medicine at Duke University. His interests include solid organ transplants, blood management, simulation, anesthesia equipment and airway management. He introduced THRIVE to the anesthesia practice at Mayo Clinic in 2016 and is a frequent user of high flow nasal cannula with publications in THRIVE as well as many regional, national and international presentation on using high flow nasal cannula for sedationa and anesthesia procedures. He has 47 peer reviewed publications, 12 book chapters and 31 abstracts and is a reviewer for several journals. He is involved in 39 IRB research protocols in various stages.
