Dr. Carmelo Blasco is a tenured professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Asunción and the president-elect of the Sociedad Interamericana de Endoscopia Digestiva (SIED), beginning his term in August 2025. He is a Fellow of both the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and SIED. Dr. Blasco previously served as president of the Paraguayan Society of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. He remains an active contributor to the field of gastroenterology and endoscopy, representing his home city of Asunción with pride.
